A Nurse Accoucheur is defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as: A registered Professional Nurse and Midwife who is competent to practice independently in the areas of general nursing and midwifery, including the management of normal pregnancies, labour and puerperium, and the identification and referral of complications.

A registered Nurse is authorised to:
-Trained in both general nursing and midwifery. -Conduct antenatal, intrapartum (labour), and postnatal care. -Deliver babies and manage normal births. -Identify, manage or refer complications during childbirth. -Educate and support mothers regarding infant care, breastfeeding, and maternal health. -Administer medications and emergency care during childbirth if needed.

 Counsellor

A Professional Counsellor is a registered mental health practitioner who is trained to provide short- to medium-term supportive counselling to individuals, couples, families, or groups, helping them cope with emotional, psychological, or social challenges. They are regulated by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) under the Professional Board for Psychology.“

A registered Counsellor is authorised to:

A range of psychological services such as
-Assessments and short-term supportive counselling.
-Trained to provide a variety of psychosocial interventions to individuals, groups, and communities.
-Prevention and health promotion initiatives.
-Psychoeducation,Short-term, supportive counselling.
-Screening for mental health issues, aptitude tests, personality profiling,

Beauty Therapist

A Qualified beauty therapist  is professionally trained and certified to deliver a comprehensive range of treatments promoting self-confidence and well-being through aesthetic improvement and therapeutic technique.
This expertise is aimed at enhancing or sustaining physical appearance while fostering relaxation and overall wellness.

A registered Beauty Therapist is authorised to:

-Perform Facial and body treatments, such as skincare, hair removal, nail care,
-Massage therapy
-Makeup application.  
In addition to performing treatments, their duties include conducting skin assessments.
-Recommend appropriate products and treatments, .
-They may also provide education on skincare routines.
-Perform consultations to understand client needs.

Physiotherapist

A  Physiotherapist is  a qualified healthcare professional who is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and trained to assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent physical dysfunction, disability, or pain through physical means.

A  registered Physiotherapist is authorised to: -Evaluate neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. -Design and implement treatment plans. -Health promotion and preventative care. -Rehabilitation after surgery, injury, or chronic disease. -Advising on posture, ergonomics and lifestyle modification.

Optometrist

An optometrist is a professional registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), trained to conduct eye examinations, diagnose visual impairments and diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic medications as appropriate. A  registered optometrist is authorized to:

-Perform comprehensive eye examinations,
-Diagnose and manage refractive errors ,
-Prescribe and fit spectacles and contact lenses,
-Detect and refer ocular diseases ,
-Provide low vision services and vision therapy, 
-Educate patients on eye health, visual hygiene, and preventive care.
